Today’s women are more aware of the appearance of their external genitalia than previous generations. Accepted cultural rules like shaving, waxing, etc. have increased the popularity of vaginal rejuvenation in our practice, so we offer the full range of surgical and non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation procedures.
Cosmetic gynecology consists of a series of procedures that can be performed individually or in combination with other interventions, depending on the wishes and needs of each patient: labiaplasty, remodeling of large labia, clitoroplasty, reduction of mons pubis, hymenoplasty, etc.
Many women have suffered a lifetime of embarrassment because of their labia. They can be larger than usual, leading to friction with certain clothing such as sports equipment, swimwear, tight jeans or even shorts. These women often have a discomfort in sitting, cycling, or during sports training. One of the labia may be larger than the other, generating embarrassment in intimacy.
Removal of excess tissue can generally be performed by a personalized incision under local anesthesia with or without sedation. Dr. Sinescu pays special attention to eliminating the excess volume and preserving the natural postoperative aspect of the labia. Most of her patients drive home afterwards; an additional benefit of local anesthesia is the ability to keep this treatment confidential between the patient and surgeon, as it is not necessary for someone else to accompany you home.
Large labia remodelling
With age and often after birth, the volume of large labia may decrease. For patients who prefer a “fuller” look, injection of filler compounds can bring a more attractive temporal outline. However, for permanent results, fat injection after liposuction offers a much more stable alternative. This maneuver can be done alone or in conjunction with any other body remodeling procedure with the type of anesthesia required by the extent of the intervention.
Clitoroplasty is accomplished by removing and / or remodeling the skin above the clitoral head. Structural or as a result either of age or birth, the clitoral head is too lax, which can diminish pleasure and sexual response. This procedure is intended to allow adequate clitoral exposure to obtain maximum stimulation. Remember that for women who require clitoroplasty due to aging, labiaplasty is also generally needed.
Reducing the Mons Venus
Aging and weight gain may cause mons pubis to widen with time. Not only is this visible through tight clothing – a sports or bathing suit – but if mons pubis extends over the labia, access in intimate relationships is diminished. Simply removing excess skin and underlying fat easily recreates a younger and aesthetically attractive area.
Hymenoplasty is frequently performed because of cultural pressure and expectations in anticipation of marriage. This is a very private and personal matter. The procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia to allow total confidentiality. During consultations and examination, our doctors will discuss your options and expectations.
Are you a good candidate for a cosmetic gynecology procedure?
The best candidate for a cosmetic gynecology procedure is a woman with concerns about the size, shape and / or volume of her external genitalia. Women of all ages, including teenagers, can get emotional and physical satisfaction after a cosmetic gynecological procedure. If you have a good overall health and a realistic view of the results that can be obtained, you can have a real indication for such surgery.
Dr. Sinescu and our medical staff are dedicated to helping get the body you want in a safe and proper way. Therefore, during your first appointment with our staff, before planning your surgery, we shall discuss the issues you want to improve, your goals and expectations. We’ll review the various options suitable for you. You will be given a detailed explanation of the procedure, steps to be followed before and after surgery, potential risks and complications, costs and payment methods. We will answer all your questions. We’ll ask for your medical history, information on cigarette and alcohol consumption, and a list of all the medicines you use, including the over the counter ones.
Your procedure will be performed in one of the ultramodern clinics where our doctors work. With very few exceptions, cosmetic gynecology is ambulatory and requires only local anesthesia. If you are scared, local anesthesia can be associated with sedation, but this requires a friend or family member to take you home. Most operations of this type last about 1-2 hours. For procedures involving fat transfer it will take about 2-3 hours, because the operation has two stages: first liposuction is performed, then fat is processed and inserted into the desired areas. The type of anesthesia used and the need for hospitalization will be discussed during the initial consultation with Dr. Sinescu. In the end, we place a few suture points, most of which are absorbable, and we dress the area.
