VASERlipo is a revolutionary technique for removing excessive and unwanted fat from the abdomen, hips, thighs, arms, back, knees, neck and chin. This form of liposuction can also reduce the appearance of cellulite. Unlike traditional techniques, VASER liposuction targets fat cells without destroying surrounding tissues. This less aggressive approach is more accurate, has exceptional results and a much faster recovery period.
Are you a good candidate for VASERlipo?
An ideal candidate for VASERlipo, sometimes called liposelection, has at most 10-15% excess body weight, sports regularly, follows a healthy diet and has localized fat deposits, resistant to diet and exercise. At the initial consultation, Dr. Sinescu will assess the individual risks and recommend the appropriate procedure for obtaining the desired results.
Some body areas are more suitable for liposuction than others. Regions where you generally get the best results are hips, abdomen, outer thighs and neck. However, VASERlipo allows surgeons such precision that delicate areas such as the face can be remodeled successfully.
Dr. Sinescu and our medical staff are dedicated to helping get the body you want in a safe and proper way. Therefore, during your first appointment with our staff, before planning your surgery, we will evaluate the areas you want to improve and we shall discuss your goals and expectations. We’ll review the various options suitable for you. You will be given a detailed explanation of the procedure, steps to be followed before and after surgery, potential risks and complications, costs and payment methods. We will answer all your questions. We’ll ask for your medical history, information on cigarette and alcohol consumption, and a list of all the medicines you use, including the over the counter ones.
The procedure will take place in one of the clinics where our doctors work. They have both the cutting edge technology and the special training needed to perform this simple and relatively painless procedure that can give you the look you want.
The intervention is either in local anesthesia with deep sedation or under general anesthesia and it lasts 1-5 hours, depending on the extent of the treated areas. The anticipated duration of the procedure will be discussed with you at your first consultation.
Initially, the doctor makes a very small incision in the area to be treated. The incisions required for VASERlipo are extremely small and heal very quickly. A special saline solution that helps numb the site and reduce vascularization is injected locally. Dr. Sinescu then introduces a very thin device that emits ultrasonic waves in the incision area, thus transforming the adipose cells into fluid. Since ultrasound does not affect vital tissues such as nerves, blood vessels and connective tissue, they remain virtually untouched. Once all the fat cells have been liquefied, Dr. Sinescu uses, using the same incisions, a fine cannula to remove the fluid created by the sound waves. Because VASERlipo uses refined ultrasonic technology, the immediate swelling that occurs in classical liposuction does not exist, allowing the doctor to sculpt the treated surfaces much better. VASER liposuction does not cause immediate ecchymoses – and very few in the long run – so the physician assesses the exact effects in real time. This less aggressive approach produces excellent surgical results. Incisions can be sutured or not. We apply gauze dressings and a compression suit on the treated areas.

Fading of scars – a few months to a year
Final contour – from 3 to 6 months
What are the possible side effects or risks?
Any surgery has a degree of risk, and body surgery is no exception. During the first consultation, Dr. Sinescu will evaluate your individual risk level, all potential problems will be discussed and we will establish together if you have a strong indication for liposuction. Strict adherence to all pre- and postoperative medical recommendations is crucial to reducing any danger. We will always be at your side to achieve a satisfactory and safe end result.
The most common complications include:
– modified local sensibility
– symmetry changes in the treated areas
– irregular body contour
How long do the results last?
With VASERlipo, you finally have a simple and relatively painless way to remodel the areas in your body where excess fat deposits are present. Although there are limits to the amount of tissue that can be eliminated, in most cases you can get the results you want. These results last a few years. Fat cells in treated areas are permanently removed. A healthy lifestyle, a regular exercise program and maintaining a proper weight will keep your body in the best possible shape.
